Meet Your Guardsmen

Captain
Lady Muirghein MacKiernan

Lady Muirghein MacKiernan is the daughter of a merchant chief of County Kildare in Ireland, 1535. She was born in 1499. She was his only living child, and as he had wanted sons, he taught her many things not befitting a Lady. She learned to fight and think, and even sailed briefly on the privateer vessel The Venture as one of her officers. She follows the affairs of the English Court, as they ultimately control her family's fortune. She was horrified by King Henry's actions in putting aside the gracious Queen Catherine for the whore, Anne Boleyn and took herself overseas, to the Kingdom of Ansteorra. She has served in several offices of her new home and has found the land and her people to be very hospitable, if intolerably hot. Lady MacKiernan has also opened a small school of fence, with students ranging in age from six to sixty and has recently been appointed as the Captain of the Guard for her Shire's newly formed Civic Guard. She is often shamefully seen in the company of an Irish playwright, of all things!
